What is the difference between chiropractic care and physical therapy?

Chiropractic care primarily focuses on spinal health and improving overall wellness through manual adjustments to promote better alignment, mobility, and nervous system function. Chiropractors address issues like back pain, neck pain, and joint discomfort, and their care often involves hands-on techniques tailored to your needs.  Stretches and exercises are typically taught and recommended to do at home.

Physical therapy, on the other hand, often focuses on rehabilitation from injuries or surgeries, improving strength, and restoring function through exercises, stretches, and other therapeutic techniques. It is typically more movement and exercise-based.  The stretches and exercises are typically done in a PT clinic.

Can chiropractic care help with neck pain or stiffness?

Yes. Chiropractic care is highly effective for relieving neck pain and stiffness. Gentle spinal adjustments and targeted techniques can restore proper alignment, improve range of motion, and reduce tension in the muscles and nerves around the neck.

What is the difference between a consultation and an adjustment?

A consultation is the initial step where the chiropractor discusses your health history, concerns, and goals to determine if chiropractic care is suitable for you. It helps the chiropractor understand your needs and create a tailored care plan.
